Star Refutes Anti-Vax Position After Voicing Controversial Covid Feature
The acclaimed actor has lent his voice to a recent film that challenges the safety of vaccines and lauds former government figure Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a bestselling book written by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was a result of a bad strain of the influenza shot.
Her co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with far-right radio host Alex Jones. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's participation in the project.
An Unequivocal Denial
The team of Neeson have released a comment firmly refuting suggestions that he holds anti-vaccine sentiments.
"We all acknowledge that unethical practices can exist within the drug industry, but that should never be equated to being against vaccines," the response explains. "Liam never has been, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his enduring support for public-health initiatives."
The response noted that the performer did not shape the project's editorial content and that questions about its claims ought to go to the filmmakers.
Major Themes Within the Feature
In the film, the script read by Neeson makes several strong claims:
- It claims that pro-immunization voices have called for "blind obedience" to public institutions.
- It declares that "research has become highly politicised."
- Kennedy is shown stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not properly vetted."
- It further attacks Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
- Concerning pandemic shots, it mentions a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "dangerous experiments."
Past Background and Recent Issues
The documentary includes a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was later the topic of a formal apology by the corporation for violations of guidelines.
Recently, Kennedy called on the CDC to revise its long-held position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This assertion is echoed in the documentary, even with a fresh analysis from the WHO reiterating no such link has been found.
An Earlier Position of Endorsement
Differing from the film's message, Neeson has in the past shown firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a charity ambassador.
In 2022, he referred to vaccines as "a remarkable achievement," adding that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has lost sight of how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."
"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration stating, "This isn't the finish of our story. It is the start of a fresh chapter."
