Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Predictions
The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against AI, readers and a variety of guests.
In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.
The Hammers' sole away win this season came at Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under their manager, or the home side responding?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.
My son advised me to get Bees striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.
They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but could they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
