One two-month voyage through the Australian Coast was terminated days after the tragic passing of an older woman who was left behind by the ship on a remote island.

The elderly woman had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the vessel, but separated from the group for a pause. The liner departed without her and went back later that day after the personnel discovered the woman was unaccounted for.

A large-scale search operation located her remains the next day.

Investigative bodies are investigating the incident, together with law enforcement and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company stated that travelers and personnel on the vessel were notified that the continuation of the voyage had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and earlier engine troubles".

Via official communication, he further stated that guests would be issued a complete reimbursement, and said the operator was working "to coordinate the homeward trips of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Officials also issued an revised announcement, and said they had "provided a notice to the Captain" preventing any new passengers from entering the vessel.

The spokesperson said that they would inspect the ship in the Australian city upon its arrival.

The vessel first departed the coastal city on the 24th of October, and was only 48 hours into the journey at the moment of the senior passenger's death. Lizard Island was the opening port on the voyage.
